Advisory Board



Roslyn Schultz, B.A., MSW, is an expert clinician who has worked as a psychiatric social worker in leading teaching hospitals and as a psychotherapist in private practice. She has participated in many health care projects, both local and international as a facilities planner and environmental design consultant and has a broad range of innovative and successful administrative and business experience. In 1997 she founded SageCare Inc. and brought to it her energy, creativity, professionalism and commitment to excellence and improvements in caring for the elderly. Since its inception, and under Roslyn's leadership, SageCare has established a reputation for carrying out outstanding and innovative work in caring for the elderly.

Dr. Judith Shamian, R.N., Ph.D., CHE, is the president of the Internantional Council of Nurses (ICN) and the former CEO of VON (Victorian Order of Nurses) Canada, the country’s largest provider of home health care services. She has previously been the Chief Nursing policy advisor to the government of Canada, and VP of Nursing at Mount Sinai. Judith is Chair of the SageCare Advisory Board and liases regularly with 147 Elder Street and brings it to professional excellence in practice, education and research in Nursing and resident care.

Dr. Benjamin Schultz, B. Arch., M.U.P., Ph.D., is a key member of our Advisory Board who brings to 147 Elder Street his 30 years experience in designing, planning and managing health care facilities, including being Vice President of Planning at Toronto General Hospital and Planning Consultant to the Baycrest Centre for Geriatric Care. Ben was also a Health Planning consultant with Woods Gordon where he carried out a Canada-wide survey of care facilities for the elderly. Ben meets regularly with our team and offers administrative and planning support and guidance.

Tammy Muskat, MSW, is currently the Professional Practice Leader--Social Work, Research & Education North York General Hospital and was previously the Assistant Director, Collaborative Research Program: Rehabilitation & Long-Term Care at Baycrest Centre for Geriatric Care. She is also an adjunct instructor at the University of Toronto School of Social Work. She brings a breadth of experience in Care, Research and Education to the SageCare Advisory Board.
